Ensuring that future citizens from all backgrounds experience a good education is the most effective pathway to fulfilling careers, meaningful engagement with society and developing a sense of place and purpose in a rapidly changing world.

The Education & Skills program shapes policy and proposes practices to advance high-quality educational opportunities for all. This is also why as part of its mission to apply science and engineering for the benefit of humanity. Drawing on the Academy’s proximity to higher education, we engage leaders and experts to discuss societal impact and showcase the Academy’s work. Our focus is on advancing equity, integrating developments in learning and technology, and exploring the future of work. Through commissions, projects, convenings, and publications, we apply an interdisciplinary approach to the creation, transfer, and preservation of knowledge across society.
