MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

The primary criterion for membership is sustained academic excellence in the specific science, engineering, new technology, culture and human-health, global climate and biodiversity field. A candidate must in any case be able to think interdisciplinary and contribute to the mission and vision of the Academy. IASE wants to elect scientists, scholars and experts of international distinction, irrespective of nationality, gender, location or discipline.

Criteria for election

1.Honorary Members (Academician) in any field

Every natural person can be elected as honorary member on grounds of outstanding scientific work. The academy committee can assess the candidate making such vital contribution to international society and human activity in any field of endeavor. The honours also can be awarded to persons for special contributions : Nobel Prize Laureates.

2.Full Members (Academician)

Full or part-time (visiting) professors or entrepreneur (provided the university procedure of nomination is similar for both),

PH.D. or equivalent,

Publications or Patents : min. Five two own or co-edited books or Patents, min. Five peer reviewed articles or book chapters, or the other equivalent.

3.Fellows

In any academy degree, the candidate must be a interdisciplinary researcher, scholar and entrepreneur, and have gotten great performance in the specified field.

A proposal for a new member can only be submitted by an existing member of the Academy, i. e. you cannot nominate yourself. If you want to nominate a candidate, please complete the official nomination form, sign it and send it (with CV and publication list) via e-mail to joiniase@outlook.com.

Please note that nomination proposals must be submitted in electronic form and can be submitted at any time.

If the dossier is complete, it will be sent to the Dean of the respective class and the respective member of the Nomination Committee, who both evaluate the qualifications of the nominee. After the evaluation process has been completed, the candidate and the evaluations will be presented to the members of the Senate, who decide about membership. If a candidate is finally approved of and elected by the Senate, he/she will receive a “letter of election” by the President.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR IASE ALL MEMBERS

IASE all members shall conduct themselves honorably, responsibly, lawfully, and ethically so as to enhance the honor, reputation, and utility of the engineering profession. IASE all members shall be guided in all their relations by the highest standards of honesty and integrity.

IASE all members shall not commit professional misconduct or research misconduct.

IASE all members shall not engage in discrimination, harassment, or bullying.

IASE all members may take positions in their personal capacity and use their IASE affiliation. They may not present themselves as representing the IASE nor represent any position not stated in an IASE document as being that of the IASE without explicit prior approval of the IASE president, or in his/her absence the executive officer.

IASE committee reserves the right to the final interpretation of the above terms.
